Sunshine Service Brake & Alignment
Unprofessional and overcharging is putting this incident mildly. This is going to be a long review, so hold on tight. I had a small collision on 2/4/19 and had my car brought to Sunshine to work on. Right from the get-go, there was friction between the shop, myself and insurance. Everyone I spoke with there stated they 'Don't like to deal with insurance" and make multiple comments to me AND my insurance agent making us both uneasy. Fast forward 3 WEEKS due to complications on the insurance AND the shop side. They uncharged me almost $300 for parts after my insurance gave them a %25 markup on parts. I attempted to negotiate with Kalii and his superior Rick, both tried to tell me they only make %4 profit off each job and cannot lower the price. Kalii went so far as to tell me they were going to hold onto my car until I paid the extra $300. With no other option, I paid it and felt strong armed. FINALLY after 3 weeks I get it out and drive away. Immediately i notice something is wrong and get it back to them to take a look at. We take it for a test drive and the mechanic notices it too, so they throw it on a rack and look. OH, THEY FORGOT TO REPLACE THE DAMAGED RACK-N-PINON THAT WAS DAMAGED FROM THE ACCIDENT! So, basically, I had my car being "fixed" on for 3 weeks, held for ransom for additional $300, had to cancel a special dinner for my wife's birthday because we couldn't drive to family in California, and to top it off? They didn't even fix what they were supposed to fix. Mark, the owner, I hope you see this and email me. Your sign out front says you have been in business since 1951. All i wanted was to have my car made whole again and I trusted your team to do that for the price that was paid.
